Hints and tips

If you have rings that don't slide very well on a rod, get a cloth with some silicone spray and rub the spray onto the rod.

You can also use it in tracks to make the runners slide better.

If your heading looks messy, check the hooks.

If they are bent, straighten the hook and the heading will look tidy again.

With an expandable rod set make sure that the join rests on the centre bracket. That way the rings won't get hooked on the join.

Measure the rod first to make sure you have enough length, allow for stack backs, brackets and finials, double check, then cut it to suit.

I like to lay it all ready on the floor before I install it, then I know for sure I have included all the measurements.

Where not to put the join.

If you like something, like an eyelet heading look it up on the internet and go to the images page. This will give you a lot of ideas to look at and also give you a wider range of products for on line ordering.

If you have the full sun on a window you might like to consider window tinting or roller shutters, it will protect your furniture, cupboards, curtains, carpets even your wood floor against fading.

When you hang your curtains on your track and have any left over runners, remove them from the track, the curtain will sit better and you will not take any room away from the stack back space.

(if it only a few runners it will be ok).
